Baby First TV: What makes it different?

  • There are no commercial interruptions.
  • Programs are not just designed to be entertaining but educational as well, taking specific developmental milestones into account in the creation of the content of the programs.
Baby First TV vs. primary competitors (sites similar to Baby First TV)

Five leading competitors providing television programs for babies and toddlers include BabyTV, The Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, PBSKids, and Noggin. All five competitors are included on cable or satellite television. A separate subscription is not necessary to view the competing channels as is the case with BabyFirst TV. BabyTV is quite similar to BabyFirst TV as it also shows programs geared toward infants and toddlers 24 hours a day. Programs on BabyTV, like those on BabyFirst TV, were designed according to the devepmental stages of its viewers. The Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, PBSKids, and Noggin show baby programs during certain parts of the day such as the morning but show programs geared to other age groups throughout other times of the day. Noggin also shows programs that are not interrupted by commercials. Nonetheless, BabyTV and BabyFirst TV are the only two out of the six competitors that provide constant programs for the viewing of infants and toddlers. However, it is clear that BabyFirst TV has programs that are higher quality and more educationally rich than BabyTV. It also has the advantage that it is completely uninterrupted by commercials.

Baby First TV: Customer reviews & comments

BabyFirst TV is an ideal investment for day care providers who care for several babies and toddlers. Parents may also find the channel worthy of purchasing as well if their babies or toddlers spend a significant amount of time in front of the television. Parents who do not allow their children to watch much television or are not home throughout the day would likely appreciate BabyFirst TV but not find it necessary for them personally. One customer chooses the channel largely because of the lack of commercials that are highly present on other channels. Dawn Olsen writes "Even more than the 'always on' appeal, I especially like the fact that it is commercial free. The biggest gripe I have with the cable networks geared to young viewers are the ravenous marketers and advertisers subliminally raping my kids' minds to buy their products. I can't tell you how many times I have said 'no' to some product that my children absolutely insist they must have, simply because they saw it on TV."
